“Voice included” is still incomplete. Check whether minutes are local only, incoming or outgoing, and whether international calls have separate rates. The same applies to SMS. Do not infer unlimited service or a reusable number from a plan name.
How calling works on a data-only plan

What happens to your usual number?

When voice and text are worth seeking
- You need a local number for restaurant, delivery or accommodation callbacks.
- You must place ordinary calls where app calling is unavailable.
- You require carrier SMS for a documented service.
- You are staying long enough to use a local prepaid account.
- You understand the number's expiry, call destinations and out-of-bundle rates.
A local operator's plan may require passport or identity registration. Check official requirements and whether a visitor can buy the desired eSIM online or must attend a shop. A physical local SIM may remain an option; compare the format and setup trade-offs rather than assuming voice service requires plastic.
